Snow Day!

Wow! First, the bad news, Kaitlin's Nutrcracker performance at Tualatin High School was postponed until January. Now for the good news, it snowed 4 inches today! Kaitlin has been wishing it to snow all week and Garrett woke up this morning and just stared out the window all day, except for when he was out playing in it (global warming, what global warming?).

We started out this morning going down the driveway with the sleds. After a much needed cat nap (for dad, Garrett was too excited to nap) we ventured back out into the winter wonderland in search of a good sledding hill nearby. We ended up on the path behind our neighborhood where the hill was steep enough that the kids needed somebody to stop them at the bottom (otherwise, into the woods they would go).

Our little monsters made snow angels, had a couple of great snow ball fights, thoroughly soaked their winter clothes and warmed up with hot chocolate.

To quote Kaitlin, "This is the best snow day ever."

Sundaes with Santa

Welcome to our family's first blog. We will from time to time share some of our experiences here in Sherwood, Oregon with the rest of the world. We are Brian (dad), Lisa (mom), Kaitlin (7) and Garrett(4).

Today we went to Little Scoops in Portland which hosted 'Sundaes with Santa'. Kaitlin and Garrett had a good time eating ice cream this morning but I wouldn't suggest to other families to feed their kids ice cream at 10:00 a.m. Garrett didn't want to sit on Santa's lap but he was happy to hang with him while eating his Sundae.

Later in the day Garrett and Dad put Christmas lights up on the small tree in the backyard so Mom can see it while spending most of the time in the back of the house. Thanks Garrett for helping out ol' dad. Kaitlin had Nutcracker practice this afternoon while the boys took naps.

Kind of a lazy day for us but we need one of these from time to time.
